Planting the Seeds of Tomorrow

Programme Overview

Imbewu Yekamva (meaning Seeds of the Future) is an after-school creative leadership programme for young people aged 15–21 in Grades 9–12.

Designed to support learners during their high-school years, the programme provides a safe, structured, and inspiring environment where creativity, leadership, and life skills are nurtured side by side.

Through Fashion, Music, Creative Arts, and mentorship, learners are empowered to discover their talents, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond school.

Who the Programme Is For

Imbewu Yekamva is ideal for young women who:

  • Have an interest in creative fields

  • Need positive after-school structure and mentorship

  • Want to build confidence, leadership, and future readiness

  • Are preparing for further studies, entrepreneurship, or vocational pathways

Programme Structure
After-School/Vocational Programme

3 afternoons per week | 15:30 – 18:30

Each session includes:

  • A check-in and safe-space discussion

  • Practical creative skills training

  • Mentorship, reflection, and personal development

Saturday Programme

Saturdays focus on experiential learning and real-world exposure, giving learners the opportunity to apply their skills outside the classroom.

Saturday activities include:

  • Creative showcases and performances

  • Markets and pop-ups selling learner-made products

  • Promotions and content creation

  • Excursions and industry visits

  • Driving lessons and K53 preparation

  • Road safety and life-readiness training

Learners rotate through creative disciplines, allowing them to explore and develop their talents:

Fashion & Design

  • Sewing basics and garment construction

  • Upcycling and sustainable fashion

  • Accessories, styling, and visual storytelling

Music & Performance

  • Vocal training and performance confidence

  • Songwriting and spoken word

  • Stage presence and rehearsal discipline

Creative Arts & Media

  • Visual arts and mixed-media projects

  • Basic photography and video content creation

  • Branding, posters, and digital storytelling

Leadership & Personal Development
